Mega Book Sale!

I went for the Times Booksale this afternoon. I was expecting it to be like the normal MPH booksales…hot, stuffy, tons of people…you get the idea. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was wrong!

It was a HUGE area, with AIR-CON! There must have been almost 100 tables all full of books, all spread out nicely, unlike the MPH sales where the Fictions books are crammed into two/three bookshelves, and everyone is crowding around so you can’t even get a look at the books. The only downside was that they weren’t arrange in any particular order (eg. according to author, genre), so you had to really know what you were looking for.

They had one interesting marketing feature to make people return to the sale day after day. Every day, they have 3 different books for sale at RM1 each. And every day, the books change! Obviously the books weren’t best sellers, but the organizers are probably banking in on people buying them anyway, because who gets novels at RM1? Haha, too bad I didn’t fall for it though. I read a couple of chapters of one of the books, and it was pretty sucky.

I picked up 14 books, at RM8 each! Is that a bargain or what? It would have been nice to spend the whole afternoon there, but the amount of books was making my head spin! Really…OK, plus the fact that I went there with Terence, who has not read a book since..uni? high school? He did manage to pick up a book (which had more pictures than words!). After about an hour or so, my box was totally full of books, so I decided to go.

So, guess what I did for the rest of the day after I went home?? Hmm…
