Pampered Malaysians…

After Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s announcement yesterday of the four things that will be implemented in order to help the general public to help “reduce their burden”, you would have thought that people would be, at the very least, grateful for the changes that he has implemented. But no, certain people are still griping about things.

The Malay Mail performed a street poll yesterday, and here is an example of some of the responses they got:

“”Fuel and petrol prices should be reduced as it’s just too high. Our wages should be increased as well for us to cope with the price hikes.”

Could this person be any more spoilt?? The Government is already subsidising the major part of fuel & petrol prices, and here this person is complaining because it’s still too high. I think that in most of the developed countries, there is no such thing as fuel/petrol subsidies, the public has to bear the entire cost!

Another person said:

“The Government could also look into reducing the income tax rate and traffic fines.”

OK, reduce the traffic fines?? Why don’t you just try to drive within the laws, and you won’t GET any traffic fines! Sheesh! I think that if you are driving recklessly/parking illegally/etc. and you get a summons, you deserve to pay for it!

These things just annoy me, when people take for granted the benefits that they have from living in Malaysia, and still complain about it!
