There’s about one hour more before the F1 qualifying for the last race of the season. It’s also Michael Schumacher’s final race.
One race ago, I was so happy because Schumacher was leading the race, and it looked like he was going to extend his lead over Alonso. A few minutes later, his engine blew, and Alonso’s chances of becoming the next world champion were much brighter.
*Sigh* All Alonso needs to do for this race is to get one measly point and he’ll win. I know it’s unlikely Michael Schumacher will win the championship, but there’s a faint hope in my heart that he will retire on a high note. I keep imagining things like Ralf Schumacher banging into Alonso and taking him out off the race. Hey, he should be nice to his brother, right? Massa can’t do it, because then it will be too obvious that Ferrari planned the whole thing, so it should be up to Schumacher junior!
Once Michael has retired, I wonder if I will continue watching F1 anymore. Who would I support? I do like Raikkonen, but will anyone ever replace Schumacher? Just like when Pete Sampras retired from tennis, no one has managed to capture my interest. Only time will tell…
