My dad, cousin and myself made tong yuen the other day in conjunction with the winter solstice. Winter solstice is a Chinese festival which marks a time when all the Chinese turn one year older (I think, I’m not too familiar with all these festivals myself!). Anyway, lots of Chinese still make tong yuen and eat it during this festival.
My family was no exception, although we did buy the ready made dough. It was pretty fun to roll up the dough into little balls, probably I was influenced by the pretty pink colour!
